Walmart Stocks Corrects and Tests Technicals (NYSE: WMT)

Walmart shares WMT show a correctional decline from a 52-week high of September 27, reflecting an uptrend from mid-August against the backdrop of the publication of strong quarterly results. Since the beginning of the year, the strengthening of the emitter’s shares exceeded 24.5%. In the near future, the growth driver may be the settlement of trade disputes between the United States and China, since more than 70% of all goods sold by the company are produced in PRC.  Walmart was in the news this week for a new healthcare program to lower employee health costs.

During the previous week, Walmart shares dropped by 1.98%. S&P500 index went down by 3.27% during the same period.

Support and resistance

The emitter continues to consolidate after a prolonged growth. No single direction tendencies are observed. At the moment, the following key levels of support and resistance can be distinguished: at 115.00 and 119.50, respectively. Technical correction of #WMT quotes is possible in the near future.

Indicators don’t give a clear signal: the price crossed MA(50); MACD histogram started to decline. Positions are to be opened from key levels.

Comparing company’s multiplier with its competitors, we can say that #WMT shares are undervalued.

Resistance levels: 119.50.

If the price consolidates above the resistance level of 119.50, one may consider buying #WMT. Potential profits should be locked in by orders at 123.00, 126.00, and 128.00. Stop loss – 116.00.

If the price consolidates below the level of 115.00, #WMT may correct. The moving potential is aimed at the area of 110.00–107.00. Stop loss – 118.50.

Wal-Mart Stores was given to the previous company and its name was changed to Walmart Inc.. in February 2018. Walmart Inc. was established. in 1945 and is located in Bentonville, Arkansas.
